故事以北里大学十和田校区实际存在过的动物保护团体“犬部”为蓝本，讲述了团体创立者花井飒太从学生时代到成为现役兽医后面对动物保护问题的种种经历。A veterinary student is not just looking for money and a career. He has a genuine desire to help animals. He personally cares and does everything he can. He rescues a dog from a cruel life and founds an association to organize help for these animals. His fellow student, among others, joins him. Years pass until news of the founder spreads.
