相葉武は、３７歳、独身。仕事は、東京の映像制作会社で働くアシスタントディレクター。日々の忙しい生活に追われ、「自分のやりたい事」と「自分が今実際にやっている事」がどんどんかけ離れていく「ちぐはぐ」な生活に悩む武。若い頃の夢を諦めかけた武は、再び輝くことができるのか…。Takeshi is an assistant director working for a production company. Struggling with his daily work, he feels the distance increasing between what he does now and what he really wants to do. He remembers his grandfather, who was a Butoh dancer, who had once asked him, 'Would you dance in a costume that didn't fit you for the rest of your life? Or would you find a costume that fit you perfectly?' TIG HUG's inspiration came from the life of Kazuo Ohno, the famous Butoh dancer. The reality Takeshi struggles with is what the director herself also suffers with. What comes to save Takeshi throughout the film is the mystery man who is not afraid to ask him the unavoidable questions about the incongruous reality surrounding him.
